Grammer Office (Ebermannsdorf, Germany)

Situated on the outskirts of a forest, deep in Bavaria, this industrial building consists of two separate entities: an assembly, storage and dispatch hall and offices for the company Grammer Office. The factory itself is devised as an open space, able to adapt to the assembly line’s geometrical constraints, while the office spaces are comprised of mezzanines leading towards a main hall, reception space and exhibition area. Following an approach similar to that of Land art, the architecture’s apparent brutality responds to the surrounding forest environment. Both buildings are framed by two large black creased walls, which house on the one hand the factory, on the other, the offices, interconnected by an elevated walkway.
