| Promenade for the banks of the Rhone |

The left bank of the Rhone in Lyon is to be attributed its original function: that of a promenade. Over a distance of 4,7 km, the project provides a link between the green spaces of Feyssine Park and Tete d’Or Park to the North, and Gerland Park to the South. Some twenty belvedere boxes, observation decks where one can enjoy the view up to Lyon’s peninsula, create a transition from the waterfront walkway to the river itself, thereby connecting urban life with the banks bellow.
These boxes, the “pieds humides” of Lyon, are adapted to different functions, either as open or glazed volumes or simple platforms. They stand as a contemporary approach to the expression of the identity of Lyon.
